Joint Mobilisations and Manipulation

Hands-on treatments like joint mobilization and manipulation play a crucial role in restoring movement and alleviating stiffness in your joints, including those in your spine and limbs. By enhancing mobility, these techniques can significantly contribute to pain reduction and improve overall functionality. Experience the benefits of targeted treatments that promote a healthier, more active lifestyle with reduced pain.

-
Joint mobilisation – these include techniques such as traction/distraction, small oscillations of the joints, mobilisations with movements, and hold/relax movements.
-
Manipulation – sometimes a joint manipulation may be recommended. Manipulation can rapidly improve joint movement. You may hear a small ‘click’ or ‘pop’ sound during the procedure.

Joint mobilisations or manipulations are rarely used in isolation. These techniques work best alongside other treatments such as an exercise programme to maintain the joint movement and prevent reoccurrence.
Please note: as with any physiotherapy treatment you are likely to experience tenderness for 24-48 hours after treatment.
