Virtual Sessions

Virtual Sessions

Virtual appointments are ideal if you are unable to make it into clinic. Whether you have a longstanding pain condition, are recovering from a new injury, or are working to maintain or improve physical strength, virtual physiotherapy can help. We also offer virtual pain management coaching.

How does virtual physiotherapy work?

Your consultation will take place via a secure video call using Cliniko, offering a safe and confidential environment for your assessment. You will be asked the same detailed questions and guided through the same thorough assessment process as you would during a face-to-face appointment.

Despite the remote format, our experienced physiotherapists can provide an accurate diagnosis and deliver effective treatment and management strategies. While hands-on techniques are not possible, we will guide you through targeted self-mobilisation techniques, exercises, and personalised strategies to support your recovery and help you achieve the best possible outcomes as efficiently as possible.

All virtual sessions cost the same as in-person sessions. See our fees page for further information.

How do I prepare for a video call?

Before your first appointment, you will receive an email containing a secure link to join your video session. At the scheduled time, simply click the link and your physiotherapist will admit you to the consultation. To ensure a smooth and effective session, please check that your audio and video are enabled.

For physiotherapy appointments, it is important that your webcam is positioned to allow clear visibility of your movements. This enables your physiotherapist to carry out a thorough assessment and guide your treatment as effectively as possible.

Why is it a video call and not a telephone call?

A video consultation offers clear advantages over a telephone appointment, particularly for physiotherapy. It allows us to assess your range of movement, functional ability, and carry out modified physical tests, leading to a more accurate diagnosis. We can also observe you performing prescribed exercises in real time, ensuring correct technique and maximising the effectiveness of your treatment.
