Meet Elizabeth, the director and lead physiotherapist at Nebula Physio and Wellbeing Ltd. With over fifteen years of experience in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, she has honed her skills in both the NHS and private sectors. Elizabeth holds a post-graduate master's degree in Advanced Physiotherapy from the University of Hertfordshire, showcasing her dedication to providing top-quality care. Through her research she has successfully published journal articles (see the bottom of this page for further details). Her expertise ensures every patient receives personalized treatment tailored to their needs.

 

Elizabeth has a special interest in hypermobility, and is also hypermobile herself. In March 2024 she began a part-time PhD through the University of Hertfordshire exploring hypermobility conditions and MSK issues during and after pregnancy. Elizabeth is currently employed part-time as a Research Fellow at the University of Hertfordshire after being awarded grant funding for two stages of her PhD. With extensive experience in all areas of adult musculoskeletal physiotherapy, Elizabeth specializes in treating conditions such as headaches / migraines, vestibular / dizziness conditions, temporo-mandibular joint disorders / jaw and facial pain, and complex spinal and pelvic disorders.

 

Her passion lies in helping those with chronic pain, offering tailored physiotherapy-led pain management coaching. Elizabeth is a member of the PPA (Physiotherapy Pain Association) and also has training in the management of pain-related sleep disturbances.

 

Additionally, Elizabeth is trained in medical acupuncture and offers this service, including acupuncture during pregnancy, to enhance your treatment experience. She is a member of the AACP (Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists) and attends regular acupuncture CPD training events to continually progress her skills.

Elizabeth holds a Level 5 Advanced Certified Nutrition Diploma certified through the Association for Nutrition (AfN). With a background in physiotherapy and chronic pain management she brings a unique and holistic perspective to her nutritional advice, ensuring that her clients receive support tailored to their needs.

​Elizabeth has training in psychological therapies specifically tailored for persistent pain conditions. With experience in Mindfulness, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Acceptance and Therapy (ACT), she seamlessly integrates these approaches into her physiotherapy and nutritional management strategies. This holistic approach aims to maximize long-term improvements, ensuring that clients receive comprehensive support on their journey to wellness.

Elizabeth is a skilled instructor trained to teach physiotherapist-led clinical Pilates (APPI), including antenatal and postnatal Pilates.

Elizabeth has established valuable connections with the University of Hertfordshire, which have contributed to her academic achievements. Through her rigorous research for master’s dissertation, she has successfully published two journal articles, showcasing her expertise and dedication in her field:

 

  • Exploring the business skills, experiences and preparedness of UK-based physiotherapists when establishing and developing a physiotherapy business: a hermeneutic phenomenological study. A copy of the article can be found here.​

Following completion of her master's degree, Elizabeth worked part time as a research assistant with the University of Hertfordshire musculoskeletal research unit in collaboration with Bradford University on a project regarding maternal physiotherapy. During this research she co-authored a scoping review entitled Musculoskeletal physiotherapy practice and maternal health: a systematic scoping review (currently under review for publication).
