Acupuncture / Dry Needling

Acupuncture / Dry Needling

Acupuncture can be a very effective addition to other physiotherapy treatment modalities to help speed up your recovery. The needles used are very fine, single-use stainless steel needles, which can help to promote healing, improve sleep and reduce pain.

Antenatal and Postnatal Physiotherapy

Antenatal – Pregnancy alters your body at a rate far faster than any other time in your life. It is therefore very common to experience minor aches and pains in a variety of areas. Gentle hands-on physiotherapy treatment can relieve sore muscles and mobilise stiff joints to improve your movement and reduce pain. A targeted exercise program can help to maintain your movement and strengthen your pelvic floor and abdominal muscles.

Postnatal – It is incredibly common to experience some weakness in the abdominal and pelvic floor muscles after pregnancy, whether you have had a natural birth or a c-section. This can lead to problems such as back pain, pelvic pain, and weakness with bladder and bowel control. Without treatment these conditions can linger and worsen, however targeted treatment can help to significantly improve and often resolve these problems.

Hands-on treatments such as joint mobilisations and manipulations can help to restore the movement and reduce the stiffness of joints, both in your spine and your arms/legs. This in turn helps to reduce pain.

Clinical Pilates

Pilates is a fantastic way to help you improve posture and flexibility. It also helps to increase general strength and core stability, which leads to better balance and control of movement. Clinical Pilates can be a great way to safely return to exercise after suffering from an illness, injury or after undergoing surgery.

Rehabilitation and Strength Training

An exercise program is often vital for returning to normal activities or sports after illness, injury or surgery. Rehabilitation and strength training within physiotherapy can help to improve movement and flexibility and increase strength.
